As I mentioned in the first chapter of this article, this is a significant draw for many Latin Americans, who may face economic or political instability in their home countries, or for escorts who are just looking for a better life in Europe.

Holding a Spanish passport also provides greater travel freedom globally, as Spanish citizens enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to a large number of countries, a benefit that many Latin American passports do not offer.

 

Spanish Fast-Track Citizenship: an easy application process

Latin Americans can initially move to Spain through various residence permit options, such as employment, studying, family reunification, or through investment visas (like the Golden Visa for real estate investment). But many escorts simply get into the country as a tourist. Then, they look for an economic way to stay in the country and be eligible to meet residency requirements.

Once in Spain, they must maintain continuous residence for at least two years. This generally means they cannot leave the country for more than six consecutive months during this period.

To speed up the process, some South American escorts even choose the option of marriage. In fact, foreign spouses of Spanish nationals can apply for citizenship after one year of legal residence in Spain, provided that they have lived together continuously during this period. Spain also benefits economically from this influx, as Latin Americans bring skills, investments, and cultural diversity, which contribute to Spain’s workforce competitiveness and consumer base.

But for many, this selective policy creates an unequal system, with some claiming that it undermines the fairness of Spain’s immigration and naturalization laws. Others fear an influx of new citizens from Latin American.

 

More and more Spanish escorts in Switzerland

The exponential number of Spanish escorts in Switzerland is not only a consequence of the change in the law on prostitution in Spain, but also and above all due to the political choices made by the Spanish government in favor of South American immigration.
