The owners of that sex forum are kind of unknown. It’s helpful when they aren’t known at all, because such persons are in a very difficult position, as you can imagine. There may be everything from bribery to personal attacks, once their identity is revealed. This group also has to overview anything that is posted, and this can be a lot! Information that is too private must be deleted and so are any threats of violence. The redlight business is of course attracting a lot of shady protagonists leading to an often very questionable environment for all stakeholders. Yet, you don’t need to believe me, but I can assure you that what happens behind the scenes is less glamorous but also less shady than many people may think.

Many girls don’t sit well with the idea that there’s a sex forum out there where very intimate and personal details about them can be shared, without their consent.

After all, there are many clients who have been turned down outright or some who just are slackers, bullshitters (sorry) or boundary pushers. Some of them get back to that sex forum to vent some steam or worse: to bully a working girl. But with anything in life, there is a natural balance and so are the reviews. There are more or less reliable clients and writers, some with a better reputation than others. Yet, most erotic studios intervene if a claim is totally bogus and false, while other escort agencies may publish good reviews on their own behalf. If a place, agency or studio has consistently bad reviews, the chances that it will soon be out of the market are high though. Therefore, reviews must be good there, may they be genuine or fake. An established sex forum can be a real indicator, and some writers are very familiar with the local scene. It’s even assumed that law enforcement has an eye on it. Finally, the media frequently refer to those sex forums when they need to have a halfway reliable source of information on sex work, from the client side. Most of the time, that source of information isn’t legit.

How should an escort react to these reviews? Customers who wrote good reviews may become repeat customers!  Clients who weren’t happy won’t return and there is nothing one can do about that. In some cases, they will go to a sex forum and write a bad review. The working girl can fortunately log into the sex forum and publish a response to that bad comment she got. However, very few of them are active on these forums. Either out of disinterest, or because they do not know that they exist, or because the language barrier does not always allow them to defend themselves as they could in their mother tongue.

But there are also sex workers ask clients for reviews, or they get to someone who would be OK to write a positive comment, even if he actually never met her.  Many club owners have a group of clients that are willing to write in the sex forum to gain other favors in return. And sometimes writers are sent to that sex forum in order to do some damage to a competitor. In the last ten years or so, following that sex forum I have seen that in most cases, the reviews were accurate and for some girls, they even had a positive impact on their earning potentials. Indeed, if only one reader every other day decides to pay her a visit, this could already add up to a week of great earnings, do the math!

The final thoughts should be about the tone and the respect. The way that opinions are expressed by certain persons on these sex forums say more about who they really are than about the topic they are writing about! Please do not forget that behind the mask of every sex worker there is a personal story. And some of those are really tough to digest. Therefore, when I write a review on a sex forum, I always keep that in mind. Yes, it happened to me, that I wasn’t very pleased by a service and what followed was a tirade directed at me with angry text message – fair game! But is it really a fair game? In these kinds of situations, it is always worth questioning one’s beliefs before venting one anger on a sex forum.
