Why do men like tall women?

 

Do you know any tall women in your friends or family circle? You probably do. Well, do you know that worldwide, the average height for adult women is approximately 160 centimeters?

Therefore, women taller than this benchmark are considered above average in height. However, globally, average female heights vary, ranging for instance from about 150 centimeters in Guatemala 170 centimeters in the Netherlands.  

In Western Europe, the average height of a women is between 160-170 centimeters. Usually, a woman whose height is between 170-179 centimeters will fall in the category of tall women. Tall women who are 180 centimeters and above are described as being very tall women.  

 

Why do tall women stand out?

Tall women often stand out due to their noticeable presence in social and professional settings. Height can convey an impression of confidence and authority (which is not always true, as many of them are often soft, sensitive and insecure), leading to increased visibility. In many cultures, height is associated with leadership and competence, which can influence perceptions positively. However, on tall women perspective, standing out can also attract unwanted attention or lead to misconceptions about one's personality or abilities.

 

Advantages and challenges faced by tall women

Tall women may find it easier to command attention in group settings, which can be advantageous in leadership roles but also in many situations of daily life. Greater height allows tall women for easier access to items on high shelves or better views in crowded spaces. Another advantage tall women have is that their height can be associated with power and confidence, potentially leading to positive biases in professional environments.

The challenges faced by tall women are at least as many as the pros of being taller than the average. Finding appropriately fitting clothing can be difficult, as standard sizes often cater to average heights. Tall women may experience discomfort in spaces designed for average heights, such as airplane seats or compact cars. Height differences in romantic relationships can be a concern, especially in cultures where societal norms favor taller men. Some tall women may feel self-conscious when dating shorter partners (which can make some men just as uncomfortable).  

 

Tall women: Attractiveness and perception

Many men find tall women attractive. Height can be associated with health, good genetics, and confidence, traits that are often deemed desirable. Additionally, in some cultures, tall women are perceived as more elegant or modelesque, further enhancing their appeal. However, individual preferences vary widely, and cultural backgrounds play a significant role in shaping these perceptions.

Indeed, for some men, the fact that a woman is a very tall is a particularity that they find extremely attractive. In conclusion, being a tall woman comes with a unique set of a few challenges coupled with a lot of advantages. However, many tall women don't always seem to be aware of the real power they have to be tall!
