She's also clever and interesting. Very interesting. In this exclusive and 100% authentic interview, this young lady reveals her journey from porn star to escort.
Thank you, Linda, for your trust and for agreeing to share your life experience with our readers!

From Porn Star to Escort: Linda Sweet opens up to you.
Janet: What originally attracted you to working in the adult film industry?
Linda : This is a difficult question. I sort of just fell into it. My family wasn’t wealthy, and life was hard. At that time, I was having troubles with being very sensitive and scared of everything. I didn’t choose the adult film industry at first by myself. It was not even my intention to do so. I wanted to try to join the modelling world, but some porn star production basically found my profile on a serious modelling site and contacted me. They didn’t mention anything about porn and pretended to be a classic model agency. They invited me for a „casting“, and I went there in the hope of becoming a photo-model. You can imagine how it went. „You need to take topless pics otherwise we don’t pay you“, „You have to take nude pictures otherwise we don’t pay you“ and „You have to have to have sex with this man otherwise we don’t pay you“. They know how to manipulate unsecured (weak) girls, and they know how to find them. This was a traumatizing experience. If they would be honest about it, didn’t manipulate and bully me it would be different story for me, I guess. I would have probably still agreed. I mean I was already unsuccessful with the dream of being a photo-model for so long and I really needed the money. After about half a year later an agent contacted me and told me openly that she got my contact from this dishonest production and with question if I would like to try to be a porn star.
Janet: What’s in your opinion, the 3 biggest misconceptions people have about the porn star industry?
Linda : That it is easy to do. That it is easy money. That it is real. The Porn Star industry is absolutely not easy. It is tiring. You have to be on scenes with people you don’t like, and you almost can’t choose them. Often you have to do things you don’t like to do. Many people think that porn is very well paid or that we get ongoing parts of the profit. Since I experienced only the European market I can’t speak for the rest of the world. But at a European level, all of that is not true. You get a one/time payment for a scene, and it is ridiculously low. I deal often with people that think what they see in the movie is reality or, this is how I like to have sex or that scenes (stories) are real. But none of it is real. Porn star movies are simply entertainment for adults. It is just acting according to the script and the sex style is adapted to the type of production.
Janet: Can you describe what led you to transition from porn star to sex worker?
Linda : On average you have about two years in the porn star industry in Europe. This is the time when you shine; people want to shoot scenes with you and offers and interesting. If you want to be active longer you must either be really good at what you do, be very special or trick the system with things such as changing your look and/or your nickname. Over time the porn business did change and so have I. Scenes got harder and were not anymore about acting. There was real pain. All of this came step by step and it took me some time to realize it. Also, I figured out more who I am. So, I decided that I didn’t want to participate in activities which are not for me (hardcore anal, pain, lesbian sex, unprotected sex, etc.). Once I was confident enough that escort work is a better way for me, I unquestionably closed the porn star chapter of my life. Since 2018 I completely stopped with porn, and I don’t have any contacts to the industry anymore.
Janet: Was this shift a personal choice, a financial necessity, or a mix of factors?
Linda : It was definitely my personal choice influenced by multiple factors. As mentioned previously I had changed, and I wanted something else than what the porn star industry was offering. The offers I got started to be fewer and fewer in number and less and less paid. There was also a financial reason of course. Another important reason to shift from porn star to being an escort was responsibility. That might sound funny, but you want to protect the health of your partner, your costumers and yourself. As an escort I can better control this aspect.
Janet: Did your experience in the porn star industry influence how you viewed or approached sex work? If so, how?
Linda : No, it did not. And I do still consider myself as an open-minded woman when it comes to sex.
Janet: How much of personal control do you feel you have over the work you do now, compared to being in the porn star industry?
Linda : Compared to working in the porn star industry, as an escort I’m now 100% in control. I set the rules. I discuss in advance with costumers about their wishes. I decide if I’m fine with them and I chose who I am happy to spend time with.
Janet: Based on your experience, how different is the porn star life from the sex worker life?
Linda : To me, very different. As an escort I can control many things. For instance, I control how visible I am with my advertisement, as opposed to the porn star entertainment industry where you have to trust your agent that he does his job properly. But he has hundreds of ladies to take care of so… Another example: as an escort I have a more reliable income. If some costumers get bored of you and decide to visit another escort, you have just created room for another new client. As I like to say „People come and go“. In porn star business, it isn’t like that. There are not so many productions, so if the production gets bored, there are not so many other options for replacement. In the worst case they are forced to shoot with you anyway and the atmosphere will be a real shit sandwich.
Janet: What does consent mean to you in the context of your current work?
Linda : It means a lot to me. Perhaps it is the most important thing for sex worker to understand and actually use it. It allows me to be choosy and not because I want to be arrogant but to protect my own mental health. It means that I have 100% right to politely decline a client’s request to see me or performing a certain service. Both sides want and should feel comfortable. If I don’t have a good time, then the gentleman won’t have one either. I had a really bad experience in France back in the days, which made me quite choosy now and more sensitive to this topic.
Janet: Are there boundaries you’ve chosen to set for yourself in your sex work, and how do you maintain them?
Linda :Yes, of course there are boundaries in my sex work. I learned over time that it is best to clearly communicate them. If even with clear communication the boundaries are still being pushed during a date with a client, I gently remind him of this. If he persists, it constrains me to end our appointment. But generally speaking, my clients are really lovely!
Janet: How do you feel society views the difference between porn star work and sex work? Do you agree with that distinction?
Linda : I think the definition of both jobs for many people is basically being a „whore“. I think they don’t see any difference. They can think that. Of course I don’t agree. The porn star business is simply entertainment made by productions, actors and actresses. Being an Escort is one of the oldest professions in the world, and it is very well used by all kind of people for many different reasons. Let’s face it. Nobody does his/her job for free. Everybody is selling himself/herself for money. If it is physical work, you are selling your body. If it is intellectual work, you are selling your brain. Maybe all people are in some way prostitutes. Aren’t they?
Janet: Do you think that being a former porn star has helped you getting more clients as an escort?
Linda : Having been a Porn Star is double-edged sword for an escort. You may get more costumers just because of that but you are permanently fighting with people who don’t understand that porn and escort are two different professions. I hear the sentence „But as a porn star you did it“ a lot. I am facing a lot of requests for unprotected sex which are extremely disrespectful towards an escort, and I am spending a lot of time explaining to people how disrespectful and uncomfortable it is. I could choose to not use that brand but for some reasons I want to use the brand of Linda Sweet. First, the porn star industry is profiting from it until now. So why shouldn’t’ I? Second, I want to make sure that some people are not illegally pretending to be me or abuse of the innocence and naivety of those who have no idea how that the porn star industry really works.
Janet: Have your personal values or beliefs around sexuality changed over time through your itinerary from porn star to escort?
Linda : In some areas for sure. I over time started to see sexuality in a wider context. Especially when it comes to paid sex. It is not only the sex, but also more the entire package around intimacy that matters.
Janet: What do you wish people understood better about your line of work — whether in porn or escorting?
Linda : There are a lot of things I wish people would understand better. I'm going to list them as they come to my mind, so not necessarily in order of importance. First off, whether as a porn star or an escort, we are businesswomen. We need to be strict and clear in communication. We can’t flirt for hours just for fun. People also don’t understand that being an escort comes with many roles and challenges. It is not only sex. We are managers, do marketing, provide customer support, we are cleaning ladies, etc. Too many men also act as if escorts were not humans. Yes, we are. We are not machines. We can have a bad day; we can do mistakes. Just like anybody else… Many customers also think that we are always on our phone, waiting for them to contact us. Well, busy escorts don’t always have time to respond to messages immediately. On top of that, most of us have at least two phones to protect our privacy when we are not available for clients. So, when we are not available, we may not check our phone for days. Another thing that seems trivial but is recurring, it’s the difficulties that some clients are having to be clear with appointment requests. Whether it's for pre-booking or the nature of their fantasy, the clearer it is for the escort, the better the experience will be for the client.
Men may know that every negative review on a forum always has two sides to the story…
Clients should also understand that an escort offers services she is comfortable with. Asking for something she does not offer will not take him any further. This is especially true for unprotected sex. Last but not least, my clients are visiting an escort: No need to try to perform as if you were in a porn star movie with me! ;-)
Janet: How do you take care of your emotional and physical well-being in this line of work?
Linda : I have created a second persona which is Linda. Linda is not me and I am not Linda. That helps me a lot. During my free time I am not permanently online as I have been in the past. It helps to build some distance. I compensate my work with hobbies, sports and other interests that are not related to escort. Basically, I am just having a normal life.
Janet: As a former porn star, do you feel a sense of empowerment in what you do today — or are there compromises you’ve had to make?
Linda : Yes. I have a lot of control and autonomy. I can decide when to work, where to work and with who I work. At the moment I don’t feel like I have to do a lot of compromises and it’s good.
Janet: How does this work fit into your broader identity or life goals, if at all?
Linda : I see it more as a part of my life but not really as a part of my identity. Whether I do this job or not does not influence how I see myself as a person.
Janet: How long have you been an escort now?
Linda : I began working as an escort about 2015.
Janet: Have you work as an escort essentially in Switzerland or elsewhere too? If so, where?
Linda : My first experience was in Finland, not as an independent escort and with minimum knowledge of the English language. There I discovered what it was like to be a sex worker. I was also collecting all kind of information until I could finally be independent and on my own. My next destination was in France (Paris), then just to try Italy (Milano) and then Switzerland where I decided to settle.
Janet: Do you see this as a temporary stage, a long-term path, or something else?
Linda : I don’t wanna do much planning. I stopped with plans years ago because they never worked out. I don’t know what life brings in the future. Perhaps I will choose to have a family and for good reasons just stop with this job. Or I will just keep doing it as long as I like it and it’s worth it. Because (some escort ladies will agree with me) the amount of free time I have for myself being an escort, I would not get it in any other job!
Janet: Looking back at your porn star and escort experiences, would you make the same choices again? Why or why not?
Linda : For sure, I would do things differently. I wish I would have been back then, the strong, knowledgeable and experienced person I am today. I would have surely approached every step in a different speed and more probably more wisely.
Janet: What has surprised you most — positively or negatively — about this journey from porn star to escort?
Linda : Over the years I have met many kind men, through my career as a porn star and an escort. It is unbelievable how deep and beautiful the connections with some of them can get. We aren’t afraid to open up, talk and share our thoughts. I am really fortunate to have those people around me. They are the reason why I’m still very happy to be an escort. We help each other in a unique way. I am sad of seeing the negative impact porn star movies can have on men: the mental health issues, the addiction, the erectile dysfunctions. It’s a pity that this problem is not taken more seriously by society.
