Playmates: Why do escorts suddenly cut off?

 

If you're a man who enjoys visiting escorts, this has almost certainly happened to you: some playmates you liked and used to see regularly have suddenly, overnight, completely disappeared. They're no longer advertising anywhere; their phones seem to have been switched off for months. You were a very good client and don't understand why, without any explanation, these playmates, who were among your favorite escorts, have simply ghosted. And when you ask most playmates how long they plan to stay in this industry, they will give you a vague answer, say they don't know, or reply, "When I've saved enough money." It shouldn't surprise you, then, that when the time comes to leave, their departure is likely to be in the same way: abrupt and unprofessional.

My years of experience in this industry allow me to write about this subject with great confidence, because what I share here comes exclusively from that experience and the close relationships I've built with many independent escorts. In my opinion, there are 10 main reasons why playmates disappear without a trace. These reasons can, of course, be combined.

 

1- She found love

This isn't uncommon in this industry. Many playmates stop trading their time for money because they've fallen in love. Sometimes, this man is a former client. When an escort is deeply in love, she's either emotionally unable to continue in the industry, or she'll quit because her partner demands it.

 

2- She found a Sugar Daddy

It's often believed that playmates want to make as much money as possible, when in fact they’re often primarily seeking financial security. When a Sugar Daddy can provide this peace of mind, they're happy to only have to satisfy the desires of one man and readily give up sex work.

 

3- She found a more lucrative market

Some playmates choose to travel the world. Either because they need a change of pace from their daily routine, or because they've seen escorts on social media claiming to make much more money elsewhere. So, they try their luck, without any guarantees. But when it works out for them, you never see them again!

 

4- She left the industry

Sometimes this decision is carefully considered, sometimes not. These profiles often come from very diverse backgrounds. Some have worked in this industry their entire lives and have invested wisely, allowing them to retire without financial worries. Others never left their day jobs, and being an escort enabled them to pay off debts or save money; now they feel they no longer need this work.

 

5- She was working illegally in Switzerland

This is nothing new to you, and it's not just a Swiss issue. Yes, prostitution is legal in Switzerland, but not all sex workers can work there. Priority is given to Swiss nationals, those with a valid Swiss work permit, or those who are citizens of the European Union. For all other sex workers, the risk of deportation is real if they are caught by the police. The Swiss police are very active on this issue, and many sex workers are deported every week with a ban on returning to Switzerland for a minimum of two years.

 

6- She fell into addiction

Unfortunately, addiction is a real problem among some playmates. In fact, the overwhelming majority encounter addiction problems, whether to drugs or alcohol. When a girl loses all control over her addiction and she was working as an independent escort, it's clear that you will certainly never see her again. Indeed, not everyone can be an independent escort! It involves work, planning, coordination, anticipation, and communication skills. You must have your wits about you to be and remain an independent escort.

 

7- She's been exposed

Some playmates do everything they can to hide their double lives from their loved ones. They want to keep their sex work a secret. This leads many of them to use fake photos/profiles, for example. When they are victims of blackmail or doxxing, some choose to stay in the industry, others don't.

 

8- She has health problems

This is a subject that an escort will rarely, if ever, discuss with a client. Some playmates do indeed have health problems (mental or physical) that, at some point, overwhelm them to the point where they are no longer able to continue doing this work.

 

9- She met the wrong guy

This is often the case with young escorts, but it also happens to more experienced ones. When sex work isn't a deliberate choice but encouraged by a loverboy or controlled by a pimp, the woman no longer has freedom of choice over where she works, how she works, or with whom she works. An independent escort can find herself caught in this trap, and from one day to the next, you might never see her again.

 

10- Something happened to her

I'm including this reason in this list because it's a plausible scenario. We regularly read in the press about the number of sex workers who commit suicide or are murdered. The reasons given are always rather vague and imprecise. Clients, as well as escorts, must keep in mind that sex work is a dangerous job. It's dangerous for sex workers who never know in advance what kind of men they'll meet (it's also risky for clients who aren't discreet enough and expose themselves to a woman they know nothing about). To reduce the danger in this profession, women must educate themselves about what this industry is, how it operates, and must choose to work in a certain context and in a certain way to reduce the risk of something happening to them. Carefully selecting the clients, you decide to meet, the escort sites where you decide to advertise on, the type of photos that will attract a better clientele, and the locations (cities, hotels, private apartments) where you decide to work are factors that will inevitably influence the appreciation of your work as an escort.

 

All good things come to an end

I hope this article has clearly explained why, from one day to the next, Playmates suddenly disappear. As you can see, there are many reasons. Because—paradoxically—the majority of sex workers don't enjoy this job, and when they think they've found something better elsewhere, they ungratefully turn their backs on this profession (and on those few particularly generous clients) who have helped them financially. With a few exceptions (and unless it's reason number 10), all Playmates leave the industry this way. That's why, gentlemen, keep your distance and don't hold a grudge.
